BE proposes audit of TdC and IGF on the sale of dams by EDP

-

O The announcement was made by the BE coordinator, Mariana Mortágua, at the end of a meeting with the Terra de Miranda Cultural Movement, which took place at the party headquarters in Lisbon

“We have already presented a request to hear the Secretary of State for Fiscal Affairs and to also hear the director of the Tax Authority and we will present all steps to have an audit carried out by the Court of Auditors and the IGF [Inspeção-Geral de Finanças] to the dam sale business and the non-payment of IMI”, he said.

The bloc leader pointed out that this is an issue that BE has been following for several years, since 2019.

“We have systematically and over time raised this issue so that it does not die. EDP cannot win because of fatigue, EDP cannot win because it has better paid lawyers, EDP cannot win because it rules the governments in Portugal and in political power”, he defended.

Mariana Mortágua also considered that “it is necessary to confront EDP with the taxes it did not pay and show that in Portugal there is a rule of law and that tax rules apply to everyone, to large companies and small companies”.
