Inspector fulfills tradition with crossing of Compasso Pascal on Rio Homem

The parish of Fiscal, in the municipality of Amares, once again followed the tradition on the morning of this Easter Monday, with the crossing of the Pascal Compass.

The moment was attended by thousands of people and visitors who eagerly awaited the arrival of the butlers of the crosses in boats decorated with flowers.

Known as the birthplace of António Variações, this celebration takes place annually on Rua de São Bento das Pedras, accompanied by the parish priest, butlers of the cross, a musical band and a fireworks session.

Manuel Moreira, president of the Municipal Council of Amares, also followed the Easter beat on the boat.

The Easter visit continued through the streets to kiss the Lord.

“Today, in Fiscal, the birthplace of António Variações, we experience the crossing of the river Homem, of the Pascal compass, in boats decorated with flowers. A legacy of generations, which attracts many visitors to watch this beautiful moment when boats pass the river”, can be read in a publication from the Municipality of Amares.
