In an interview with GQ, Pierce Brosnan commented on the powers of Doctor Fate in Black Adam. The character promises to be one of the highlights of the blockbuster.

“Doctor Fate has the Helm of Nabu, which is both a curse and a blessing because he is chained to the helmet’s power.”

“Is an addiction. It’s a curse. It all sounds very frufru when you talk like that. But these are things you need to lend your heart to.”

The star was also honored to have the chance to play the character, as he has never been portrayed before in film.

“He’s a great character. He has never been portrayed before in film. This has been in production for about 40 years.”

In ancient Kahndaq, Teth Adam was given the incredible powers of the gods, but after using them for revenge and becoming Black Adam, he was imprisoned. Nearly five thousand years have passed, and Black Adam has gone from man to myth to legend. Now freed, his unique form of justice, born of hate, is challenged by modern-day heroes who form the Justice Society: Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Atom Smasher and Cyclone.

black adam is scheduled to premiere on October 20th in Brazil, with Jaume Collet-Serra (Shallows, Jungle Cruise) directing.

The main cast brings Dwayne Johnson (Quick Revenge) as Teth-Adam, Aldis Hodge (The Invisible Man) as Hawkman, Pierce Brosnan (007: Against GoldenEye) as Doctor Fate, Sarah Shahi (Person of Interest) as Adrianna, Noah Centineo (A Perfect Date) as Atom Crusher, and Quintessa Swindell (Gatunas) as Cyclone.

It is the anti-hero’s solo film, based on the DC Comics, great antagonist of Shazam! The idea is to explore his origin story, highlighting his past as a slave in the nation of Kahndaq.
