Troia also had Brad Pitt and Eric Bana in the cast.

Orlando Bloom has participated in several epic films, just see his appearances in the Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean franchises. However, the film that most takes this adjective literally is Troia, adapting the classic legend. However, his experience filming the film starring Brad Pitt was not the best. At least, that’s what he says in an interview with Variety:

I erased that movie from my mind. A lot of people love it, but playing that character for me was like [faz um sinal de cortar a garganta]; I didn’t want to make this film. I didn’t want to play that character!

According to Bloom, working with names like Brad Pitt, Eric Bana and Peter O’Toole was cool, but his character – Paris, the prince of Troy who falls in love with and “steals” Queen Helena – was his complete opposite. “It was completely against everything I believe in. At one point in the story, Paris crawls to the ground after being beaten and holds her brother’s leg. I didn’t know if I was going to be able to do that, but my agent assured me that this would be the spectacular moment. And I believed!”

It’s worth remembering that Orlando Bloom is not the first person to complain about the behind-the-scenes of Troia. Diane Kruger, who played Helena, revealed how she “felt like a piece of meat” on the set, while Brad Pitt has already declared that he only did the project due to contract requirements. Even so, the film was an absolute success, grossing almost half a billion dollars at the box office.

Directed by Wolfgang Petersen, Troy is available in the Max and Prime Video catalogs.
