The broadcast of Madonna’s show in Rio de Janeiro resulted in TV Globo selling three sponsorship shares. Each one of them, according to the F5 portal, from the Folha de São Paulo newspaper, was negotiated for around R$17 million, which adds up to a value of more than R$51 million.
In addition to the Itaú bank, which led the artist’s arrival in the country, the Heineken group and the cosmetics brand Nívea were responsible for acquiring the respective shares. The broadcaster is also negotiating a possible fourth sponsor. The amount, according to the website, covers production costs and still generates profit.
This Wednesday (25), more details about the event were revealed. DJ and producer Diplo will be the special guest in charge of opening the big show on the “Celebration” tour. Both presentations, as is already known, take place on the night of May 4th, on the sands of Copacabana beach.
According to the organization, the musician will take the stage at 8pm for a set curated with Brazilian music and which will also be broadcast on the Multishow channel. Diplo, it’s worth remembering, he was in the country in March this year to perform at Lollapalooza Brasil.
The “Celebration” show, as its name suggests, has the function of honoring Queen Madonna’s 40-year career. Anyone who wants to watch from home can watch it live on TV Globo, as well as on Globoplay (including in the case of non-subscribers, as long as they are logged in).
