Hammerfall releases the song “Hail To The King” and announces album that will be released in August

The veteran Swedish Heavy/Power Metal band released this Thursday (April 25) the video for the single “Hail To The King”. The song is one of the tracks from “Avenge The Fallen”, the group’s next studio album, which will be released on CD, LP and on digital platforms by Nuclear Blast Records on August 9, 2024.

“I started working on ‘Hail To The King’ while we were touring the US with Helloween. At the end of the tour, I was close to finishing the song, so after the show we played in Los Angeles, I got on the bus to work like crazy on the track to put together all the missing pieces. This was the show where one of my favorite wrestlers, Chris Jericho, came to visit me. Also, it was the concert where Fredrik met his idol Frank Bello from Anthrax and Joacim met. Jay Ruston, producer of Anthrax, Armored Saint, Anthrax, Corey Taylor and many more, who we teamed up with and produced vocals for ‘Avenge The Fallen’ I missed a lot of moments that night, but at least we got that song!” guitarist Oscar Dronjak.

“Avenge The Fallen” is Hammerfall’s thirteenth studio album and the successor to “Hammer Of Dawn”, released in February 2022.

“This is our 13th album. How do you stay relevant after 13 albums? It’s almost like what the first verse of the song ‘Avenge the Fallen’ says; ‘What’s worse, being the one who died, or being the one who survived? ?’. Think about it, because it’s difficult”, commented vocalist Joacim Cans.

“Do we want to be a band that releases new music just to go on tour again or do we want to keep challenging ourselves? In these times when people have less and less attention span, especially on long-playing albums. A few good songs don’t make a good album. “Avenge The Fallen” has 10 tracks and was recorded by Joacim Cans (vocals), Oscar Dronjak (guitar), Pontus Norgren (guitar), Fredrik Larsson (bass) and David Wallin (drums).
