Maria Solange, who became known for going viral when she danced to Madonna’s “Holiday”, will appear in a commercial for the bank that is sponsoring the American singer’s arrival in Brazil for a historic show on Copacabana Beach in May. The singer’s fan club profile in Brazil published a video of the former drug user announcing the news:

“Today I’m here at Estúdio Itaú, where I’m making a recording with this wonderful team. I’m counting on you at Madonna’s show,” she said in the video.
Maria Solange was noticed by Madonna when dancing to “Holiday” on the streets of Manaus. The story of the video is that she went to a bar she knew, asked them to play a song and said that she would dance for her son, who had been executed in the city.
“Are you feeling hopeless today? Does life seem like one bad news after another? Does the apocalypse seem close? I think a lot of us feel the same way. On days like these, we just have to turn up the music and dance”, wrote the singer in the caption of the post.
The video that caught Madonna’s attention also went viral here, four years ago. In a short time, Maria, who is now 54 years old, saw her life change. She is now finishing high school, lives in Guarulhos, in Greater São Paulo, and became known as “Marina Silva de Manaus”.
After the video went viral, a social project offered support to Maria, who spent eight months in treatment for drug addiction in the interior of São Paulo. She also received dental treatment and was reunited with her family at the end of her treatment.
