Born in Mooca, East Zone of São Paulo, she started imitating the artist as a joke. In her words, she did a little show here and there, “earning a little money”. She even met her husband and his manager, in 1998, and together they put together a professional show.

The Brazilian Madonna

In the early 90s, actress and therapist Regina Restelli, 63, was given the nickname Brazilian Madonna, due to her similarity to the pop diva. At that time, she wore a look similar to that of the singer to play the nightclub dancer Rosa Aimée in the soap opera “Barriga de Aluguel” (Globo) and even won a show, “Perfume de Madonna”, in which her character Zildete sang country music to the queen of pop’s classics.
