Accept releases “Humanoid”, its new studio album

Veteran German Heavy Metal band Accept officially released their new studio album this Friday (April 26). Titled “Humanoid”, the album is the seventeenth studio record in the group’s discography and the successor to “Too Mean To Die”, released in January 2021.

“I am extremely pleased with ‘Humanoid’. The album has a lot of energy! Working with the best producer in Metal Andy Sneap was once again a lot of fun! We are a great team. We all love the new album and are looking forward to playing it at the alive! I hope our fans like it as much as we do”, declared guitarist Wolf Hoffmann, in a statement published by the website Blabbermouth.

In another speech by Hoffmann also released by Blabbermouth, the guitarist explained the lyrics of the track that gives the name to Accept’s new album.

“That’s actually one of the reasons we chose it as the title track too, because it feels very current. This song fits the times we live in. And I.A. [Inteligência Artificial] It’s something that everyone talks about now and it’s on everyone’s mind because, especially for us as artists, it’s a concern because we’re starting to wonder if we’re creative now… I mean, robots used to just be mechanical things. They used to do cars and – I don’t know – mechanical work, but now they’re doing creative work.

So as a creative person, as a musician, obviously, it’s worrying because you wonder: will we still be needed in 20 years, 30 years or two years from now? Because it’s moving at such a pace and with such quality that… Yes, that’s definitely a concern. And I don’t have the answers, but it’s definitely something that crossed our minds when we wrote that song and chose it as the title track.”

“Humanoid” has 11 songs and is approximately 49 minutes long. The album was recorded by Mark Tornillo (vocals), Wolf Hoffmann (guitar), Uwe Lulis (guitar), Martin Motnik (bass) and Christopher Williams (drums).
