How was Anthrax’s show at the festival

These hits, in fact, were the keynote of his performance on the closing Sunday of Summer Breeze Brasil. A band that starts playing “Among The Living” and “Caught in A Mosh” obviously knows the effect it will have. Of more recent songs, only “In The End”, a tribute to late friends Ronnie James Dio and Dimebag Darrell (Pantera guitarist), made the cut. The rest was just old stuff that already had the public’s hearts secured and warmed.

Vocalist Joey Belladonna really seems to be plugged into 220V, running from one side to the other without stopping, going up and down the stage stairs with simple production and no major eccentricities. Making faces, teasing the audience, asking the group to sing along, extolling the feeling of metal community and even telling the camera on the big screen that, instead of filming him, they should film the audience, which is more important. A figure.

But it’s impossible to deny that everything there really happens because of Scott Ian — on stage, even. The songs essentially revolve around his acidic and accurate guitar. Shortly after “Madhouse”, he took the microphone and, in addition to thanking his fans, made it clear that anyone who enjoys thrash metal would probably like the next song.

Then came “Metal Thrashing Mad”, a root and uncontrollable headbanger. Even though they were clearly tired, the audience responded to Ian and Belladonna’s cries, dancing mainly along “Antisocial” — that song that even the guys from the French band Trust forgot was one day theirs. The same goes for “Got The Time” and Joe Jackson, in fact, with an easy chorus and a taste of everything.
