“We’ve had a really good time here in Latin America. The fans have been insanely loud. Each city has had a different set list, and we rehearsed a lot on this tour! We hope fans have heard their favorite songs, as well as some deeper tracks that We haven’t played in a while.

Fast forward to today. I was looking at some papers on the desk in the hotel suite and noticed something different that said we were going home and I always feel melancholy when that happens.

The four of us have become great friends and are all thriving together in Megadeth. If I can explain better…

Dirk [Verbeuren] He’s an incredible drummer, and I often wonder how I got lucky enough to play with him (he’s a lot like Gar), he’s a wonderful, humble man who I learned a lot from.

James [LoMenzo, baixista] has been our anchor and my mentor for singing here. He is an incredible bass player who sings with such confidence that I can easily accept guidance and criticism from him. He learned every song we played live, note for note, and I love seeing him here every morning.

I don’t have enough words to talk about Teemu [Mäntysaari, guitarrista], and I don’t even need to, as you’ve certainly seen images of us together. He is a mad scientist on the guitar, plays ALL the parts of the previous guitarists effortlessly, delicately and with the utmost respect for his predecessor [Kiko Loureiro].

The four of us play and analyze songs every day, reviewing, perfecting and building our repertoire to play for you. When we arrive in Europe this summer, we’ll have even more songs added to add variety to our concert playlists.

Well, that’s it for now. I have to rest my body a little. Tomorrow we will return to the night in San Salvador! Mother Nature tried to stop us last time, with insane wind and sideways torrential rain, but the sun came out and we’re back!”

Megadeth’s most recent work is “The Sick, The Dying…And The Dead!”, released in October 2022. The album is the group’s last record recorded by Kiko Loureiro, who left the band for personal reasons in the second half of 2023.
