The group led by bassist Steve Harris performed at the festival held in the capital of Rio de Janeiro in 1985, 2001, 2013, 2019 and 2022. Bruce Dickinson, the always busy lead singer of Iron Maiden, gave an interview to the Brazilian portal G1 and explained why the most popular metal sextet will not perform at the next Rock In Rio.

“We played there a few times. So, let’s take a break this year. We need some time to go down to Australia, New Zealand, Japan. We haven’t been there in a while. Let’s let another band headline at Rock in Rio. Maybe in the next edition”, said Bruce Dickinson.
