CP warns that between June 3 and 30, disruptions are expected in all services
If you have train trips planned for the next month, this news is for you. In a statement published on the website, CP warns passengers who intend to travel between the 3rd and 30th of June that, “due to a strike”, “disturbances in all services”, that is, “delays and cancellations of trains”.
“We inform you that, due to a strike, possible disruptions are expected in all services, between the 3rd and 30th of June 2022, namely delays and suppression of trains”, reads the CP note.
The company also informs that customers who already have a ticket for the trains of the Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, International, InterRegional and Regional services “will be allowed to refund the total value of the ticket purchased, or its revalidation, free of charge”.
Refund requests must be submitted on the company’s website or at the box office by July 10, the statement adds. Customers can obtain more information about the minimum services and the trains that are being carried out on the company’s website or hotline (808 109 110).
Strike for overtime
The strike that will affect all CP – Comboios de Portugal services follows the strike on the 16th, in which workers demanded a minimum increase of 90 euros for all workers. In a statement, the National Union of Railway Sector Workers says that “all reasons continue to exist to continue the struggle” and, therefore, a strike notice was given, starting on June 3.
Therefore, as of the 3rd, CP workers will strike “all overtime work, work on public holidays, work on weekdays, work with lack of rest”, and also “work on from the eighth hour of service”.
The union also advances that on June 7 a street action will take place with “the delivery of a document at the prime minister’s residence, to remind the government of the statements of the Minister of tutelage on September 21 of last year, that ” rail workers are right”, but after that what all the workers saw was a proposal of 0.9%, when we are faced with an inflation of 7.2%”.
