Marques Mendes: “There was a dismissal of the Santa Casa Ombudsman and everything remains to be explained, there is the feeling that it is a political clean-up”

-

This week, the Government dismissed the Santa Casa da Misericórdia board. This caused provider Ana Jorge to fall. The statement was issued by the Ministry of Labor, but so far neither Minister Ana Mendes Godinho, nor Luís Montenegro himself, have come forward to provide explanations. Luís Marques Mendes looks at the case very seriously and believes that in the near future there will be a kind of “cotton test for the credibility of the Minister and the decision”, because “if you choose a politician linked to the PSD or the CDS, you will not free yourself from the accusation that this is a political clean-up.” As for other cases revealing the Government’s performance, such as the IRS or the way it dealt with the ex-SCUT proposal, the commentator is convinced that it is necessary to show signs of “courage and decision-making capacity”, something that, in his opinion, see, it won’t be done: “Two decisions in thirty days is not enough, more is needed”. Program broadcast on May 5th, to listen to on podcast.
