41 years and 166 days. Ibrahimovic does what no one has ever done in Serie A

O Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovic creased, earlier this Saturday night, even more his name in the history of Italian football, by becoming the oldest player ever to score a goal in matches counting for Serie A.

The striker made it to the foot in the match of the 27th round, between Udinese and AC Milan, aged 41 years and 166 days, ‘dethroning’, in this way, the ‘eternal’ Alessandro Costacurta, who had held this record since May 2007, when he earned it at 41 years and 25 days.

The move took place in the last moments of the first half, at the Stadio Friuli, when the Rossoneri team were at a disadvantage on the scoreboard, as a result of a goal signed by Roberto Pereyra, just in the ninth minute of the game.

The ‘veteran’ wasted a penalty, but, after the referee Daniele Doveri ordered the replay, he was no longer forgiving, and even threw the ball into the back of the nets in Marco Silvestri’s guard, thus restoring equality.
