Spanish federation orders forensic audit of Rubiales’ management

Decision follows the arrest warrant for the former president of the federation for irregular contracts

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) issued, this Wednesday, a statement announcing that it will order a forensic audit in order to analyze the contracts formalized by Luis Rubiales while he was president of the organization.

The news comes on the same day that the Spanish Public Prosecutor’s Office requested two years in prison for Rubiales, in the case related to the non-consensual kiss he gave Jenni Hermoso

The RFEF’s order follows the international arrest warrant issued by Spanish justice to former president Luis Rubiales, after searches of the federation’s headquarters and also his home, in an operation related to irregular contracts, including the transfer of the Spanish Super Cup to to Saudi Arabia.

The statement reads: «RFEF disassociates itself from the actions of its former president and all those who may be involved and remembers that this institution is far above its leaders. The RFEF will submit to the Management Committee the carrying out of a forensic audit of any type of contract that may be under suspicion due to the actions of its former president, Luis Rubiales».
