Covered by an exoskeleton, the peripheral is the lightest gaming mouse ever developed by the brand, weighing just 49 grams.
THE Razer announced this Thursday (2) its new mouse Razer Viper Mini Signature Edition with magnesium alloy.
According to the brand, it took years of engineering improvement to offer its consumers a gaming mouse weighing only 49 grams and offering high performance for games.
What does the Viper Mini Signature Edition intend to deliver?
“We decided to create the best lightweight gaming mouse”, said Barrie Ooi, head of Razer’s PC gaming division. “During development, we went beyond our usual process and analyzed alternative materials and industrial designs to create an ultra-durable magnesium alloy exoskeleton chassis shaped like the Viper Mini. As a result, the Viper Mini Signature Edition weighs just 49 grams and is our lightest mouse ever..”
The light weight and durability of the new mouse were made possible by the use of magnesium alloy and injection molding, CNC machining and polishing techniques. The surface of the exoskeleton has passivation techniques to reduce any susceptibility to corrosion, and is also painted and assembled. In addition to significantly reducing the weight of the mouse without compromising durability, this entire process has been done to maintain the comfortable grip of the popular Viper Mini design.
“The Viper Mini Signature Edition represents the most ambitious design and engineering project we’ve ever undertaken.,” said Charlie Bolton, Head of Industrial Design at Razer. “We wanted to go beyond the traditional honeycomb design, and that required a material with an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. After evaluating plastics, carbon fiber and even titanium, we chose magnesium alloy for its exceptional characteristics.”
The Viper Mini Signature Edition features a Razer Focus Pro 30K Optical Sensor, third-generation Razer optical switches, and Razer’s fastest HyperPolling Wireless technology (which delivers 4000 Hz wireless polling rates) for seamless high performance and stability. wire. What’s more, the peripheral’s battery can be fully charged in less than 90 minutes, thanks to a 2C charge rate, which is four times the maximum capacity of most other wireless mice.
The Viper Mini Signature Edition comes with a pre-paired Razer HyperPolling Wireless Dongle, a set of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 mouse skates, a microfiber cleaning cloth, two sets of Razer Mouse Grip strips, and two alcohol prep pads. As an added benefit, the Viper Mini Signature Edition comes with an extended three-year warranty.
