The nuclear threat continues with ICBM: Escalation

-

Slitherine, one of the most well-known and successful military strategy game development brands for PC, has just announced, ICBM: Escalation. It is the successor to a strategy game originally released in 2020, which placed the Planet on the verge of a nuclear conflict.

Slitherine is a video game distributor that has become very successful in the military strategy genre and has been delivering some of the most addictive games of the genre for several years. Panzer Corps, Starship Troopers, Warhammer 40K, Battlestar Galactica, The Operational Art of War, are some examples.

In 2020, ICBM was launched, a title that addressed the theme of nuclear conflicts at a global level, whose success led to the announcement now revealed: ICBM: Escalation.

ICBM: Escalation corresponds to the logical evolution of its predecessor and as such brings several improvements, new game mechanics, graphical improvements, a stronger focus on conventional military strategies, more comprehensive research trees, more engaging espionage and diplomacy and better depth in global geopolitical strategy.

Players take control of a continental faction (country) in an era of global threat. This way they will have to start storing nuclear weapons, developing technologies and commanding an army capable of unleashing Nuclear Hell on their enemies.

Fleets of nuclear submarines, squadrons of bombers and long-range ballistic missiles will be some of the weapons they will have at their disposal to tip the nuclear balance in their favor.

They will have at their disposal a wide range of strategies and modes of operation, with the ultimate objective of inflicting maximum nuclear damage on their enemies, while keeping the population free from danger.

Victory in the game, according to Slitherine, can be obtained either in a more violent way with the total annihilation of opponents, or through less bloodthirsty means. This is where diplomacy comes into play, in ICBM: Escalation.

ICBM: Escalation will be released for PC with no concrete release date yet.
