A Taiwanese publication released this Friday (1st) states that Microsoft will launch Windows 12 in June 2024. The Commercial Times newspaper suggests that the new operating system will open doors for a new series of PCs equipped with AI and says that Several entrepreneurs in the technology sector are excited about the business opportunities that the OS will provide.

The report states that representatives from the companies Acer, Quanta, MSI and Gigabyte are looking forward to the “first year of AI PCs”, but does not provide any direct official quote from these executives that confirms the launch window.

According to the publication, the CEO of Acer Jason Chen and the president of Quanta Barry Lam participated this Thursday (30) in an exhibition on technologies for the area of ​​medicine in the city of Taipei, capital of Taiwan, where they commented on the development of AI solutions.

The report reveals that Chen was a “cautious optimist” about the evolution of technology and commented that PCs equipped with AI will “continuously accelerate the industry” in vicious cycles of hardware and app development.

The president of Quanta reportedly informed that the company expects growth in three segments with solutions equipped with AI: PCs, servers and automobiles. It is noted that the executives did not specify the month of June for the launch of Windows 12, despite the report’s statement. Microsoft has also not confirmed the operating system, but there are several rumors indicating its development. Among the rumors, Intel would already be developing a line of processors compatible with the new OS.

Meanwhile, Windows 11 continues to operate and received new features this year, such as Copilot, which has become an umbrella of the company’s AI solutions. Microsoft also guaranteed support for version 23H2 until November 2025 — which may be extended in the next system update.
