NAt the end of last year we had the opportunity to see the first trailer for ‘GTA VI’, with producer Rockstar Games revealing that the game will be released in 2025. Regardless of the wait, there seems to be no doubt that ‘GTA VI’ will be a of the great launches not only of the next year or this generation, but also of the entire history of the industry.
This is what analyst Mat Piscatella from Circana believes in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz. “[Em 2025] we’re going to have a renewed interest in ‘GTA VI’ in particular. There has probably never been anything more important to come out in the industry.”Picastella noted.
The great expectation surrounding ‘GTA VI’ – both from a qualitative and financial point of view – is mainly due to the path that its predecessor has taken over the last ten years.
‘GTA V’ was released in 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and, in the meantime, it has been one of the most popular titles of all generations that have been released in the meantime. Much of the success is also due to the online mode, which has helped keep the community active over all these years.
It is also important to note that ‘GTA V’ managed to surpass one billion dollars in sales in the first three days it was on the market. At the end of the year, publisher Take-Two Interactive also revealed that ‘GTA V’ managed to reach 195 million copies sold so far.
