WhatsApp has just announced an update that promises to bring greater convenience to the way we manage messages. The limit of messages that you can set in each conversation on the platform is now three.
This change applies to both individual and group conversations. In other words, you can now highlight more messages that you consider important in a conversation to view later.
Previously, WhatsApp only allowed a single message to be pinned per conversation. Attempting to pin a second message resulted in the first being overwritten. This limitation was a challenge for many users.
Users were forced to choose between equally important information to retain. Now, with the ability to set up to three messages, information management becomes more flexible and efficient.
Now, imagine no longer having to sift through long conversations to find that important address for a birthday or the details of a crucial meeting. And, perhaps a little less pleasantly, the time is approaching when we will run out of excuses to forget a family dinner.
You can pin any type of message, be it text, emojis, images or even questions. The process for pinning a message remains simple and intuitive: just press the desired message for a while and select “pin” in the menu that appears.
You can choose how long the message stays pinned
In addition, WhatsApp also has the option to choose how long the message will be pinned. There are now options of 24 hours, seven days (default choice) or 30 days. Especially in groups, admins have the power to decide whether everyone in the group can pin messages. Or whether this will be an exclusive privilege for administrators.
WhatsApp ensures that all pinned messages remain protected by end-to-end encryption. Which should guarantee your privacy. Pinned messages appear as clickable floating banners at the top of your conversations, so you can access them with just a tap.
