Apple is investing heavily in new AI technologies, and this may now also appear in hardware format, with changes planned for the future.

According to the latest rumors, Apple may be developing a new processor, focused on AI processing tasks on servers. This new processor would be under development by TSMC, with its 3 nm process, and would be expected to begin mass production in the second half of 2025.

Although details are still scarce, rumors indicate that Apple has ambitious plans regarding its AI technologies, and to this end, the creation of hardware capable of carrying out these plans is essential.

Apple’s idea will be to create a new processor, which will be tasked with processing generative AI functions, and which could be used on the company’s servers – focused on its services.

This processor would be under development by TSMC, and would use the 3 nm manufacturing process, taking advantage of the long partnership between the two parties. The technology could also allow Apple to adapt the chip for its own needs.

At the same time, Apple’s idea will be to use its own servers for AI processing systems, rather than using third-party alternatives. It should be remembered that Apple has contacted companies such as Google and OpenAI, to use their AI models for the company’s future developments in this sector.

In the future, Apple’s dedicated processors may allow the adoption of even more dedicated technologies for the brand, and improve their performance for the company’s particular needs.
