Microsoft is releasing a new update for Windows 11 in versions 22H2 and 23H2. Update KB5036980 is now available, and comes with small fixes for the system and some improvements focused on the home menu.

This update increases system builds to 22621.3527 and 22631.3527, depending on the version of Windows 11.

Among the new features are changes to the home menu, which will now display content directly from the Microsoft Store in the “Recommended” section. This includes applications that the system may consider to be of interest to users, based on their use of the system.

Application recommendations can be disabled if users wish, but by default they should be active.

Furthermore, this section should also begin to present some of the applications recommended for users, which they use frequently on the system but are not “fixed” on it.

An issue with widget icons, which in some situations could appear pixelated or glitchy, was also fixed. This problem mainly occurred with the information icon on the taskbar.

An issue with the System Settings window, which could freeze in certain situations, has also been fixed.

The update should start to become available to all users over the next few days.
