Apple is once again in talks with OpenAI, in order to use its generative AI technology in future versions of iOS 18.

According to Mark Gurman, Apple will have restarted conversations with OpenAI, in order to use its AI models, the same ones found in ChatGPT, along with iOS 18, part of the generative AI features that Apple intends to integrate in the system.

It should be remembered that, at the beginning of the year, Apple had some conversations with OpenAI regarding the use of its technologies. However, at the time, nothing concrete was defined between the two parties. Apple is still analyzing the market, so much so that it has also contacted Google for the same purpose.

At the same time, Apple still hopes to maintain an active conversation with Google, in order to use Gemini for some of its activities. In other words, if we take into account the information known so far, it is possible that Apple will use different AI models for different generative AI tasks.

iOS 18 is expected to have a strong focus on generative AI technologies, and this includes some very focused features for users and to improve day-to-day productivity.

It is possible that some of the new features will become known soon, with Apple’s WWDC event scheduled to take place in a month’s time, and it is expected that it will be the stage for revealing all of the company’s new features.
