-

Android 15 should be officially presented in May, at the Google I/O conference. However, the operating system has already been tested by several users for some time and this allows us to know some of its main new features.

With that in mind, today we’re going to look at the most interesting new features in Android 15. These are some of the new functions that Google will bring with this software and that will certainly improve the experience for all its users.

1. Partial screen sharing

One of the pillars of Android 15, according to Google, will be an improvement in user security and privacy. In this sense, the inclusion of this functionality is one of the most interesting of this version of the operating system.

As the name suggests, this will allow users to record just a part of the smartphone screen instead of recording the entire screen. This way, you can only share what you do in an application without showing the world other types of information.

Still related to this topic, applications will have resources to detect when they are being recorded. A perfect mechanism to detect when your smartphone screen is being recorded without your consent.

2. Private space

Also related to the privacy of users and their data, Android 15 will implement Private Space. This will be a place where you can hide applications and their respective data.

This option will be very similar to what Samsung already offers with its Secure Folder. Now, all Android 15 users will be able to enjoy something similar, without the need to use other applications.

3. Slowing down of notifications

Receiving many notifications from the same application can irritate users. Therefore, Google is testing a function that will lower the volume when an app sends too many consecutive notifications.

The first notification will arrive at normal volume, however, the following ones will be less noisy. Ideal for that app that constantly bombards us with notifications of everything and anything.

4. Sensitive notifications

For those who use two-factor authentication methods, they know that codes are usually sent via message to their smartphone. Well, Android 15 will bring a function that will prevent other applications from being able to read these codes.

This is another function with high relevance for user security and privacy. This way, it will no longer be possible for malicious applications to collect this information.

5. Application archiving

This function will be ideal for those who are running low on space on their smartphone’s internal memory. In effect, you will be able to remove rarely used applications from your device’s memory, but without deleting all of their data.

This method will delete most of the app’s operating files, but not those containing your data. Plus, its shortcut will continue to appear in your apps list so you can quickly restore it when you need it again.

6. Audio sharing with multiple devices

In your smartphone’s settings you will find a new audio sharing option. This will allow you to send audio from your equipment to several headphones simultaneously.

Thanks to this function, you’ll be able to send the music you’re listening to to your friends’ headphones. This way, you won’t have to share headphones as each person will hear the sound emitted through their own. It is important, however, to emphasize that this option should be limited to compatible models.

7. Bluetooth settings pop-up window

So far, in the quick settings menu, the Bluetooth button only allows you to turn this connectivity method on/off. With Android 15, a new pop-up window with more controls will be implemented.

In this window you will have more quick controls. For example, you will be able to see which devices are connected to your smartphone and quickly connect or disconnect any of them.

These are some of the most relevant new features that we already know about Android 15. With its official presentation, we will learn about its main functions and find out if Google has any more surprises for us.
