A new image has appeared on the Internet showing Apple’s new line of smartphones, where the iPhone 16 Pro Max, the largest model, appears to receive a major size upgrade.
If the information presented in the image in question is confirmed, the base model will have a 6.1-inch screen, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a 6.9-inch screen.
Could iPhone 16 Pro Max become too big?
It is a fact that smartphones have had ups and downs when it comes to what size would be ideal for consumers.
Smaller smartphones have always had a very specific audience while larger models gained market share until they became commonplace. More recently we started to see brands trying to shrink equipment again using screens that can be folded.
However, Apple appears to be taking the opposite path. A new image shared by Sonny Dickson, on social network, shows what appears to be Apple’s next line of smartphones. Among the 4 models on display, the iPhone 16 Pro Max ends up standing out from the rest, as it presents the information that it will have a 6.9-inch screen.
The base model should have a 6.1-inch panel, with the Plus model going up to 6.7 inches. The iPhone 16 Pro should be in the more normal range, at 6.3 inches and then, what appears to be almost a small tablet, the iPhone 16 Pro Max makes the leap to 6.9 inches.
In the same image we can see that the base models are the only ones to undergo changes to the camera module, with the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max maintaining exactly the same camera layout as the models currently on the market.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max, in fact, receiving such a large screen could be pushing the limit of what is acceptable for a smartphone, since the size to be easily transported becomes increasingly difficult to achieve. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultraa smartphone already considered too large by some, has a 6.8-inch screen.
So far there are no confirmations about this information from Apple, so we just have to wait for the official presentation so we can confirm this bold move by the Cupertino company.
