Developer Bloober Team said it is “very confident” at the launch of Silent Hill 2 Remake. The game, which does not yet have a release date, was the subject of the company’s annual report, which apparently is betting on commercial success.

“We do not hide this internally or externally — and that is the most important test of our actions. We are not only excited, but also very confident with the final result“, says the report (via @pl_evil).
Despite the excitement, the last big news about Silent Hill 2 was controversial: the game’s most recent trailer is very focused on combat mechanics, and was not well received by fans. Bloober Team themselves were unhappy with the material shown, saying it didn’t capture the soul of the game.

Later, an image on SteamDB indicated that protagonist James Sunderland’s face had been changed to a younger version — but the change has not yet been officially confirmed.
Silent Hill 2 does not have a release date, but the game is expected to arrive in 2024.
