A Google announced that, throughout 2023, it managed to prevent 2.28 million applications from being available in its virtual cell phone store, the Play Store.
The company states in a blog post that the apps in question violated their respective usage policies, adding that more than 333,000 developers were banned for repeatedly carrying out malicious activities on the platform.
The publication also served for Google to announce changes to its application admission process, noting that developers now have to provide identity information in order to have their accounts on the Play Store.
