Users asked, and OpenAI is giving in to their wishes with an update bringing two new features to ChatGPT. Both features focus on data and privacy control and optimize the platform’s history for users, as has long been desired.
Conversation history and temporary chats
The two new features are conversation history and temporary chats. The first, as the name suggests, brings with it new features in the history available on the platform.
Previously, users who didn’t contribute data to train ChatGPT’s AI model couldn’t access their conversation history. From now on, this restriction no longer exists, allowing all users to consult the conversations they had with this generative AI.
OpenAI, for its part, has already guaranteed that previous data contribution choices will continue to be respected.
The second new feature reinforces user privacy. The temporary chat functionality means that conversations held with this generative AI model are not recorded in the platform’s history.
Update available for Web format
For now, this update is only available for the web format of the generative AI platform. But, according to information released by OpenAI, it will soon also be made available for the mobile application.
With this update, OpenAI aims to reinforce the concept of a user-centered platform, giving people more control over their history and allowing some contributions to not be recorded.
