During Apple’s investor conference, Tim Cook, the company’s CEO, assured that several of the company’s products should receive features based on generative Artificial Intelligence this year.
Furthermore, the executive revealed that the company will have competitive “advantages” to “differentiate” its solutions from those offered by other companies. He didn’t want to go into details, but assured that these are “very exciting” features.
We believe in the transformative power and promise of AI and believe we have advantages that will differentiate us in this new era, including Apple’s unique combination of seamless integration of hardware, software and services. Apple’s innovative chip, with our industry-leading neural engines and our unwavering focus on privacy, underpins everything we create.
Commenting on the matter post-conference, market analysts believe that Apple could take advantage of the launch of the iPad line, next week, to reveal some AI features that should reach the tablets in a future update.
We continue to feel very optimistic about our opportunity in generative AI. We are making significant investments and we look forward to sharing some very exciting things with our customers soon – said Cook.
In the view of Ming-Chi Kuo and Mark Gurman, Apple’s main advantage will be 100% hardware-based processing of the company’s AIthat is, without depending on cloud services.
This should make Apple’s AI much safer than its competitors, and for this processing to be done in hardware, the company needs to optimize its tool well so that it works perfectly on M4 chips and with limited RAM.
For now, we don’t know the features that will be launched by Apple, but new details should be revealed at the WWDC conference in June.
