The next iPhone models may have a slight change in MagSafe magnets compared to previous generations, according to images shared by the French company ShopSystem.
According to the images, which show molds of what were supposed to be the chassis of the “iPhones 16”it is possible to say that the magnets have a thinner design compared to the rings on current models.
The source of the images suggests that such a change could result in third-party accessory manufacturers having to adapt their products; however, this is unlikely as the new iPhones will certainly be compatible with existing MagSafe and Qi2 chargers.
As noted by iClarified, although there is a possibility that Apple will optimize the MagSafe charging of the “iPhones 16”, this would have more to do with the wireless charging coil located in the center of the magnets — that is, if the external dimension of the ring is the same as that of the iPhones 15, this could give Apple a little more space in the center for a larger coil. Furthermore, thinner components may suggest that the company has adopted a stronger magnetic assembly.
Finally, it is worth noting that the images also corroborate the new design of the rear cameras of the “iPhones 16/16 Plus”, which should once again be arranged vertically.
