So WhatsApp announced that it is updating the appearance of its platform to help keep it looking new, simple and accessible. To achieve this, the company applied a variety of changes, one of the most notable being a new color palette. In addition to having a more consistent green palette, WhatsApp says it has also increased the use of neutral colors. According to him, it allows you to be more selective about where and how green is used throughout the app.
However, the dark mode in the application also received a notable update. WhatsApp has increased the contrast and is now using deeper tones to make dark mode darker and less tiring on the eyes.
Along with these color adjustments, it looks like the icons, illustrations and chat background are also getting an update. Now, the icons will have a more rounded and outlined style, while the illustrations have more fun animations. Meanwhile, the team updated the doodle to the default chat background.
You will be able to see these changes in both Android and iOS applications. However, there are some new additions that will be exclusive to one or the other. Something that will be exclusive to iOS is a new attachment layout that introduces an expandable tray for sending multimedia files, searches, documents and more. In the case of Android, there is now a navigation bar at the bottom. WhatsApp says the addition of this bar has allowed it to design conversation filters to be at the top of the conversation list, allowing people to quickly find conversations without having to scroll through their entire inbox.
