Yes, this month Samsung took longer than usual to release the latest security patch. It’s true that this manufacturer is generally ahead of Google in releasing monthly updates for its devices. However, the update has arrived and should be available for all Galaxy S24 in the coming days.
The May 2024 Galaxy S24 range update weighs in at around 519MB and appears to include nothing except the latest security patch level. It could have some bug fixes built in, but Samsung didn’t detail anything in particular in its changelog (via SamMobile).
As mentioned in Samsung’s security bulletin, the May 2024 security update fixes 45 security vulnerabilities on Galaxy devices.
Interestingly, the same May update being rolled out in Europe appears to be a little lighter than the American version. According to SamMobile, the update weighs around 300 MB for the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus in Europe and just over 400 MB for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. We wonder what Samsung is leaving out in this region.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra has a fantastic camera system, but it’s not perfect. Samsung has already fixed some of the shortcomings through a couple of software updates. Meanwhile it turned out that another update to improve the camera is on the way. However, the next update may be delayed, according to tipster @UniverseIce.
The next software update, which improves the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s camera experience, “has been delayed until at least June.” The reason for the delay is unknown, although it’s possible that Samsung wants to focus on getting the One UI 6.1 update to all eligible devices.
The previous update for the Galaxy S24 range fixed issues related to white balance, exposure, text sharpness in zoomed photos, low-light image quality, and more on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It also improved image quality on the basic and Plus models.
