After completing the last act of the first round of the electoral campaign in São Paulo, senator Simone Tebet (MDB) was received with applause at Campo Grande airport (MS) late this Saturday afternoon (10/1). At the same time, the latest electoral polls by Ipec and Datafolha showed positive results for the emedebista. In one she numerically surpassed the candidate Ciro Gomes (PDT) and took third place, and in the other she is tied with the pedestrian.

To her countrymen, Tebet reinforced what she called a “historic moment” in the current dispute, as a senator from Mato Grosso do Sul, from Pantanal, teacher and mother. “Being a South Mato Grosso making history, we will come out much bigger than we came in”, she said, adding that she sought “strength where she didn’t have it to be able to fulfill a mission on behalf of Brazilian and South Mato Grosso women”.

Featured in all the debates in which she participated, the candidate took her word of courage to her home state, with the same vigor that she faced her main political opponents throughout the campaign. “They both wanted to make me a ladder,” she said, repeating what she had already answered in front of them. “I’m not here to discuss who is the most corrupt or the most incompetent or who thinks of themselves. I’m here to talk about Brazil,” she said.

With that, the candidate echoed the voice of the woman from Mato Grosso do Sul, many of them present in the act of welcoming the candidate, as well as former minister Carlos Marun (MDB). “Today, there is no politician who does not respect me, therefore, who does not respect the woman from Mato Grosso do Sul”, she said to applause.

“Inside and outside the party, all the time, we took two steps and pulled the rug and we came back. We had to face opponents and friendly fire”, he added.

At the press conference, Simone was asked about the expectation for Sunday. “First, I’m very happy to be back home. I’m even excited. I think I’ve accomplished a mission with Mato Grosso do Sul, to show how serious politicians exist. In my case, a woman from Mato Grosso do Sul, with a lot of courage in this moment of polarization. I had the courage to overcome all these challenges. No candidacy has been more difficult than mine. No candidacy has been boycotted as much as mine. No candidacy has had, on the part of some, the attempt to pull the rug, maybe out of fear,” he said.

“Being here, at this moment, knowing that we are taking this election to the second round, I know what that means. , but also the certainty that we can be in this second round”, he declared.

The candidate also spoke about part of the government’s plan in the area of infrastructure. “Our government will be a government that is a partner of the private sector. The State has to take care of what is essential for the people – health, education, public security and building affordable housing. The rest, we have to do in partnership, put in new money, whether foreign or national, in concessions, duplicating highways, building railways, ports and airports, cabotage so that our production arrives faster and cheaper at the table of the Brazilian population, making the products arrive faster and cheaper on the shelves of commerce so that the Brazilian worker can have money to buy”.
