Google Pixel Fold: SoC Tensor G2 and 12GB of RAM. Price?

We’ve been talking a lot about Google’s Pixel smartphones, for a variety of reasons… They’re powerful, well-built, beautiful, more wallet-friendly, and of course, with their own level of innovation.

After all, Google decided not to go after the Qualcomms, Samsungs or MediaTeks of this life, to bet on its own SoC, a little like what Apple also does.

That said, in addition to an increasingly interesting range of Pixel smartphones, everything indicates that Google will also take advantage of the year 2023 to launch its first foldable smartphone, the Pixel Fold. Is ready?

Google Pixel Fold: SoC Tensor G2 and 12GB of RAM. So what about the price?

So, if you’ve been paying attention, you should know that this isn’t the first time we’ve talked about a Google Pixel Foldable. But, it seems, after 2 pandemic years, and extremely high production costs, the year 2023 will be the year of the research giant’s bet.

That’s why we have new renders, and also a taste of the final specifications, where of course we can include the SoC that powers the current Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, as well as 12GB of RAM for the base model. This smartphone is now codenamed ‘Felix’, and is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2023.

Isn’t the Pixel 7 SoC too weak for a foldable in 2023?

Yes, but probably not. Google doesn’t want to go after pure and hard performance, but to achieve a good balance between performance and energy efficiency. For this, it is betting on more specialized chips, capable of meeting what consumers really need.

In addition, being weaker, they are also cheaper. The Pixel Fold could very well become the cheapest foldable on the market in 2023.
