Commotion and disbelief marked the burial of Letycia Peixoto Fonseca and her baby, this Friday afternoon (03). Mother, eight months pregnant, Letycia was murdered last Thursday night (02), at Parque Aurora, in Campos. At the Campo da Paz cemetery, many friends, family and acquaintances, in solidarity, were able to say goodbye, including the victim’s mother, who was also shot last Thursday, in reaction to the act against her daughter. Letycia’s baby’s father and her uncle, Célio Pessanha, who helped shortly after the crime, were also present.

The family members thanked everyone for their presence and said they were confident that justice would be done, the perpetrators would be discovered and the crime would be solved. On the occasion, the mother and grandmother said a prayer, saying goodbye. Friends and relatives gave a round of applause.

Lorrayne Nogueira, a friend from high school, said that Letycia was “extremely intelligent, cheerful, beautiful and a person who enjoyed life and dreamed of being a mother. I have no words to describe. She was one of a kind and whoever she met was very lucky. I am grateful for that,” she highlighted.

Célio says that, on the night of the crime, he was at his residence, which is nearby. “I live on one corner, they live on another. I heard the shot and thought it might be someone else. Then I saw the movement of neighbors in that place. When I arrive at the scene, I find her mother already in despair because she had been shot”.

Célio says he called the Fire Department, waited a few minutes, but had the initiative to help right away, given the situation. “I had the initiative, as her mother was in despair, also shot in the leg, I took the initiative to help. We took her out of the driver’s seat, because she had her seat belt buckled. She was eight months pregnant. And she is a big person. Along with her mother. Still, poor thing, with her leg shot, she managed to jump over it [Letycia] from the driver’s seat to the passenger seat. And, immediately, I turned on the alert, the horn and walked to Ferreira Machado”, said the uncle.

About asking for justice he says: “We do want to ask for justice. The Civil Police is very committed, Chief Natália Patrão is very committed, there are some friends from the PRF who are helping. Thank the Military Police, looking for camera and evidence. I believe that, soon, the people who did this will be arrested ”, he concluded.

The lawyer, family friend, Dr. Marcelo Barreto, is following the whole case. “We are, at all times, in this line of investigation. Ahead of the investigation. And making things really happen so that it has a fair outcome. We always ask the population to contact the authorities, providing information. Really denouncing with truthful information, with concrete information. That’s what we value. The whole family is in shock. Really not knowing how it happened, what happened. Because it happened. Several whys, several happenings, ”he reported.

“We are trying to make the outcome in the best possible way so that there is justice in this cruel, barbaric case in the city of Campos”, he concluded.

A pregnant woman, eight months pregnant, was shot dead last Thursday night (3) in Campos dos Goytacazes. The crime took place on Simeão Scheremeth Street, in Aurora Park. She was arriving at her mother’s house, when two men came on a motorcycle and the hitchhiker fired several shots at close range. Her mother, who had already gotten out of the car, still ran after the man who shot her daughter and was pushed and then shot five times. Security cameras captured the moment of the murder.

Letycia Peixoto Fonseca did not have time to try to escape and died shortly after being admitted to the hospital. The baby, who was born in an emergency cesarean section after her mother was murdered, died this Friday (3), at 8 am. The child was hospitalized in serious condition at the Beneficência Portuguesa Hospital. The mother of the pregnant woman, also shot, received care at the hospital and was released.

According to information from the Military Police, the perpetrators of the crime have already been identified. One person has already been heard in the 134th DP and released. According to the chief delegate of the 134th DP (Center), Natália Patrão, the investigation was carried out at the scene and the images from the security cameras are being requested and other steps are in progress to determine the authorship and motivation of the crime. Still according to the delegate, Public Security is fully integrated in the streets, in investigations, uninterruptedly.
