A 57-year-old man was the victim of robbery, which is robbery followed by death, on Friday night (17), in Olinda. According to the Civil Police, the victim was at a bus stop when he was approached by criminals, who stabbed him. Relatives of Clelio Barreto da Silva said that he was returning home from work.

The case took place on PE-15, in the Varadouro neighborhood. Police said the man was rescued, but he couldn’t resist the injuries and died. The case was registered by the North Metropolitan Region Homicide Task Force.
The victim’s nephew, civil servant Danillo Batinga said that his uncle worked at the Igreja da Ordem Terceira de São Francisco, known as Capela Dourada, in the Santo Antônio neighborhood, in downtown Recife. He, who lived in Paulista, in Greater Recife, was waiting for a BRT at the time of the robbery.
“Two individuals approached him and announced the robbery. We don’t know if he reacted, if he was scared or something, but they stabbed my uncle. He was even taken to the Tercentenary Hospital [em Olinda]but did not resist”, he said.
Clelio Barreto da Silva’s body was taken to the Institute of Legal Medicine, in downtown Recife, to undergo expertise. The wake and burial will take place on Sunday (19), at the Santo Amaro Cemetery, also in the capital of Pernambuco.
By means of a note, the Civil Police said that any information about this crime can be passed on, with a guarantee of secrecy, to the Ombudsman of the Secretariat of Social Defense (SDS).
The ombudsman works from Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 7 pm, through the numbers: 0800.081.5001 and (81) 9.9488-3455.
