A man was arrested at sea on suspicion of stealing two gold chains in the Barra region, in Salvador. According to the Military Police, the case happened on Friday (1st) and the suspect swallowed the accessories.

The police were called by a woman, who reported that she had both chains ripped off by the man.

During the search, the suspect fled and threw himself into the sea. He was found near the navigation buoys on Farol da Barra beach and removed from the site with the help of the Fire Department.

According to police, the suspect said he no longer had the stolen chains.

He was taken to the Barris Emergency Care Unit (UPA), where it was found, through an x-ray, that the chains had been swallowed by him.

The man was arrested and taken to the Flagrantes Center, where the incident was recorded. He already had other police records for theft.
