Traffic accidents leave at least seven injured this weekend in the South of Minas | South of Minas

At least five traffic accidents were recorded between Friday (15) and Sunday (17) in the South of Minas. The incidents left at least seven people injured.

A driver with signs of drunkenness was rescued after losing control of the steering wheel and crashing her car into an embankment on MG-344, in Cássia (MG), on Saturday night (16).

According to the Military Highway Police, the incident was recorded around 10pm, at km 50, while the woman was heading towards Ibiraci towards Cássia.

The 41-year-old woman was rescued and taken to the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) in Cássia.

According to the PMR, after a breathalyzer test, the driver tested 0.79 mg/l of alcohol. She was not arrested due to her health condition and remained in the hospital for further examinations.

A 24-year-old man was injured after an accident between two cars at MGC-491, in Arceburgo, on Saturday afternoon (16).

The incident occurred around 4:20 pm, on a bridge located at km 51. One of the vehicles hit the back of the other and both fell into embankments on the side of the road.

According to the Military Highway Police, the driver of a Fiat Uno reported that he was traveling along the highway and when passing over the bridge, his car was hit in the left rear. With the impact of the crash, he lost directional control and then fell into an embankment.

To PMR, the 36-year-old driver reported that he was following the rear of the Fiat Uno when the car braked suddenly. He was unable to avoid it and ended up hitting the vehicle. Subsequently, the Citroen also fell into an embankment on the right of the road.

According to the police, both drivers performed a breathalyzer test which was negative for alcohol consumption.

According to the PMR, the driver of the Fiat Uno was rescued with minor injuries and taken to medical care.

A driver and a passenger were injured after the car overturned in Alfenas (MG) on Saturday night (16). The accident occurred around 11pm, in the Morada do Sol neighborhood.

According to the Fire Department, the 21-year-old driver reported that he was driving through the neighborhood when he hit a parked car. The driver lost control and ended up overturning the car.

Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found the victims outside the vehicle. The passenger was mentally confused and the driver had several injuries to his body, as well as bleeding from his head.

The victims received initial care from firefighters and were taken to Alzira Velano Hospital, in Alfenas, to receive additional medical care.

Crash between pickup trucks leaves man injured at MGC-491, in Paraguaçu

Two drivers aged 53 and 60 were injured after two trucks were involved in an accident on MGC-491, between Paraguaçu (MG) and Alfenas (MG), on Saturday morning (16). The accident occurred around 11 am, at km 199.

According to the Military Highway Police, the driver of one of the vehicles reported that he was traveling along the highway and the other car was waiting to make a turn towards the dirt road. At one point, the vehicle that was stopped began to maneuver and the two ended up crashing.

According to the Fire Department, one of the cars involved overturned and ended up on the side of the road.

The 60-year-old driver was rescued with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), bleeding on the forehead, rib fracture and several injuries. He was treated by the Paraguaçu firefighters and ambulance, and was taken to Alzira Velano hospital, in Alfenas.

The 53-year-old driver, who was in the car that rolled over, suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Paraguaçu.

According to the PMR, the drivers took a breathalyzer test which gave a negative result. The truck that crossed the road had overdue documents and was removed to an accredited yard.

Car overturns after hitting the side of two vehicles on Avenida João Pinheiro, in Poços

A car overturned on Friday night (15) after hitting two vehicles and losing control on Avenida João Pinheiro, in Poços de Caldas (MG).

According to information from the Municipal Civil Guard, a Celta was traveling along the avenue towards the Center, when it lost control of the steering wheel and hit the side of a Doblô and a Yaris, then overturned.

The driver of the Celta fled and the owner, who was a passenger, suffered minor injuries but refused treatment. None of the occupants of the other vehicles were injured.

The Military Police registered the incident report. The car that caused the accident has been removed.
