A mother and her two children died after a serious accident that happened on BR-277, near Laranjeiras do Sul, in the Center-South region of Paraná. The tragedy happened last Monday night (25).
According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the driver left Laranjeiras do Sul and was going to the municipality of Nova Laranjeiras, a city 21 kilometers away. At Km 460, the woman began overtaking and ended up colliding head-on with a truck.
After the first impact, the car the family was in hit a second truck that was traveling along the road. According to information collected by the PRF at the scene of the accident, the children were not using the necessary safety equipment for the safe transport of minors inside vehicles.
The mother and two children died at the scene of the accident. Furthermore, the woman identified as Rosemary Santos was two months pregnant with a third child. The children were identified as Miguel Santos and Samuel Santos.
The truck drivers were not injured and passed a breathalyzer test, which did not indicate that they had consumed alcohol.
