Two brothers were identified this Wednesday, the 27th, by the Civil Police, as perpetrators of the murder of a 35-year-old man in Xanxerê. The body of Jhony Cleiton Neckler Pacifico was found on Wednesday afternoon inside the municipality.
According to the police, the accused, aged 27 and 31, confessed to the crime at the police station, around five hours after finding the body. They were heard and liberated. The investigations are conducted by the DIC (Criminal Investigation Division) of Xanxerê.
The police reported that the homicide occurred on Sunday, the 24th. The body was found late this Wednesday morning, in a ditch on the São Paulo line, in the interior of Xanxerê, already in an advanced state of decomposition.
The victim had criminal records, the police reported, and was partially buried and covered by some cloths. According to the Civil Police, a call was made to the Military Police due to the smell at the location, which was isolated for forensic work by the Scientific Police.
Police chief Vinícius Buratto Iunes said that in relation to the motivation for the crime, the brothers claimed self-defense.
The police also found and seized a crutch belonging to the victim – which was missing one of its legs – and an alleged machete that he was carrying on the day of the crime. The Civil Police continues to investigate the case and should conclude the investigation within the next few days.
