Filipino crew member is rescued off the coast of SP after suffering an accident on an oil tanker
A 31-year-old crew member had to be rescued from an oil tanker after suffering an accident on the boat. Images obtained by g1 this Monday (1) they show the man in Filipino nationality being rescued in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo (watch above).
According to the São Paulo Port Authority, the victim slipped from a gap on the ship and dislocated his shoulder. Salvamar Sul Sueste, an organic structure that coordinates search and rescue activities, received the distress call and contacted the São Paulo Port Authority (CPSP), which coordinated the rescue actions.
On a CPSP vessel, with a doctor and nurse, professionals from the Brazilian Navy sailed approximately 15 kilometers to the ship. Then the Filipino was withdrawn with the help of a basket from the tanker himself.
In the images, it is possible to see the mobilization of professionals to transfer the crew member between the vessels, amid the strong waves, this Saturday (30). According to the Captaincy, the man was taken to the Hospital Beneficência Portuguesa for treatment without any risk of death.
