A terrible crime shocked Cuiabá, where a 34-year-old man, an employee of a gas distribution company close to the victim’s residence, was arrested on suspicion of raping and stabbing an 84-year-old woman to death. A arrest was made in the act by the Specialized Homicide and Personal Protection Police Station (DHPP).
According to police information, the suspect confessed to the crime, claiming to have broken into the woman’s home with the aim of stealing her cell phone and money to buy drugs and alcoholic beverages.
The incident occurred in the Despraiado neighborhood, last Thursday (28), and was registered as aggravated robbery, rape followed by death, aggravated homicide and femicide.
Images from the gas distributor’s security cameras, obtained by DHPP, show the moment the individual jumped over the side wall of the residence, wearing a pair of black boots and a green bag.

The victim’s body was discovered in the residence on Thursday morning (28), showing signs of sexual violence and two holes in the chest. The knife used in the crime was found in a field close to the house.
Family members reported that the elderly woman lived alone and that a family member had spoken to her at around 7:30 am, indicating that the crime occurred after that time.
The camera images allowed the identification of the suspectwhose work boots, used during the crime, were found in a field close to the scene of the incident.
After identification, the man was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning (29), and the police officer responsible charged him with aggravated robbery, rape followed by death, aggravated homicide for a futile reason – which prevented the victim from defending himself – and femicide. He was later sent to court.
