Pain and the search for justice mark the trajectory of the family of Marcelo Oliveira da Costa, former public servant at Várzea Grande City Hall and app driver, murdered on April 2, 2023. One year after the crime, the victim’s sister , Andreia Oliveira da Costa, in an outburst to expresses the family’s anguish and anger at the lack of judicial resolution and the freedom of the accused, military police officer Diogo Donald Correa das Neves.
Marcelo, described as a dedicated father and tireless worker, was killed in his own home, in front of his seven-year-old son and his wife. The family, now helpless, faces not only the pain of loss, but also the psychological consequences that the tragic event unleashed on their son and wife, who have not yet received any type of financial or psychological support from the State.
Andreia raises questions about the accused’s conduct and continuity of service in the Military Police, despite previous investigations that already pointed out irregularities. The search for justice has become a constant cry from Marcelo’s family, who promise not to give up until the necessary legal measures are taken. “This is a cruel murder of an excellent family man, hard worker, a civil servant with a civil service exam, who sweated and dedicated his time to working and studying to pass a public exam and even though he was a civil servant, he still sacrificed himself to work in his few spare hours as a driver. application to help support his Family, he was cruelly murdered in an ambush set up by a cruel and cowardly killer, who had no mercy in murdering my beloved Brother in front of his beloved little son, just 7 years old, and his beloved wife, illegally and once again cowardly used the military police system to find my brother’s residence and with plenty of time to premeditate the murder, proving the coldness and immense cruelty of this monster in human form, he shot my brother with immense hatred that managed to hit my brother’s neck, leaving my brother agonizing on the floor in front of his little son, who was only 7 years old, today my nephew and his mother – my sister-in-law, undergo psychological treatment and to date have never received any help from the State , he didn’t even receive a pension, a termination agreement NOTHING…and the family is awaiting a position from the internal affairs department and the military police corporation as there was already an inquiry in favor of this murderer for illegal possession of a weapon before he even joined the corporation and to this day nothing has been done ; A cruel confessed murderer continues to work, this generates immense revolt in our family to know that an extremely cruel and dangerous criminal is walking the streets, offering extreme danger to other families, being able to murder another father or mother of a family, being able to destroy another family.” .
