In October 2021, Alec Baldwin was preparing to enter the scene on the set of the film “Rust” when he ended up shooting Halyna Hutchins, director of photography. According to the investigation, the gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez Reed ended up making a mistake by loading the gun with real bullets and not film ammunition. Currently, both Hannah and Alec are charged with manslaughter, when there is no intention to kill, in addition to other charges.

In early March, Hannah Gutierrez Reed was convicted of manslaughter, escaping the secondary charge of tampering with evidence, of which she was acquitted. The gunsmith is now awaiting a determination of her sentence, which could be up to 18 months in prison. The decision should come out this month.
