3rd suspect arrested for death of doctor found with rope around his neck | Police | MIDDLE NORTH

The São Paulo Civil Police arrested the third person involved on Tuesday night (23). at the murder of doctor Aurélio Tadeu de Abreu, aged 48, in São Bernardo do Campo. The information was confirmed by delegate Kelly Cristina Sacchetto to the TV Meio reporter, Lucas Padula. This is Leonardo dos Santos França, 34 years old. On the day, the victim was found with hands tied and with a rope around his neck.

OTHERS INVOLVED: In addition to Leonardo, they are arrested Diego Marques and Carolina Bival de Medeiros. On that day, the criminals drugged the doctor and then tied the victim’s hands and hanged him with a dog leash, according to statements collected by the Civil Police. O third party involved knew the doctor and had planned a party with him, when he invited the other two, as he testified at the police station. The suspect was temporarily charged with robbery – robbery followed by death.

“He denies having participated in the robbery, but confirms that he was in the house with the other two […] He met the doctor more than 20 days ago, in a bar here in São Bernardo, and in conversation the doctor said that he used to have parties at his house […] Then they started talking, exchanging messages and until the day of the incident he invited the three of them to go to his house, for a party”, said the delegate to reporter Lucas Padula, from TV Meio.

Questioned by the Civil Police about his participation in the crime, Leonardo denied. He claimed that “he was outside and that he only saw the doctor lying dead on the ground”, and that’s why he decided to escape too. However, the logistics are being investigated and, this Wednesday (24), he will undergo exams at the IML – Legal Medical Institute and a custody hearing.

THE CRIME: Security cameras record all movement. At a certain point, Aurélio leaves with a woman and returns around 9 pm. Afterwards, two men are seen in front of the residence. They wait outside for around 30 minutes and then enter the property. Hours later, a suspect takes the doctor’s vehicle and flees. The other man and woman leave the scene on foot.

“A guy and a girl (Diego and Carolina) claimed to have put a substance in the drink to drug him, but I believe it worked, and he had a reaction when they announced the robbery. The criminals used a neck leash and tied the doctor’s hands. The girl who was arrested denies having participated in the attacks […] As soon as they realized that the doctor showed no reaction, they went in search of valuables, money and couldn’t find it, thus stealing the car”, delegate Kelly Cristina Sacchetto told MeioNews.
