The accident involving Fernando Sastre Filho happened in the early hours of March 31, on Avenida Salim Farah Maluf, east of São Paulo. The driver of a Porsche crashed into the back of a Renault and killed the driver of the vehicle.

In his statement at the beginning of the month, Fernando stated that he was speeding “a little above the permitted”. The information was contested by witnesses, who indicated that he was speeding.
