We all know that the Hobbit Frodo is the great hero of The Lord of Rings saga, a literary work created by JRR Tolkien and which has had a film adaptation and countless video games. You Hobbits are a very peaceful race in this universe, with habits very specific to their land in the Shire. It is exactly this race that will be explored in the next game in the fantasy universe: Tales of the Shire.
While this is not an action game or MMO, this proposal marks the debut of Weta Workshop, Peter Jackson’s own special effects company, responsible for the two film trilogies, in video game production. O The game is distributed by Private Division and had already been announced some time ago, but only now has the studio shown the trailer and shared its plans for the adventure.

Inspired by the daily lives of Hobbits, Tales of the Shire promises to be a light game, where players take on one of the inhabitants of Bywater. You will have to explore the territory, look for raw materials, and then decorate your home, cook the ingredients and establish connections with friends. The game features agricultural elements, in which you will have to grow vegetables and cereals, as well as fish, among other activities.
From the trailer revealed, the game has a stylized design, with a cartoon-like art direction, as if the engravings of the stories came to life. The player can customize his character’s appearance, choose clothes and configure his little houses.

The world of the Shire is full of secrets and lost treasures to find. Daily routines will be transformed by weather changes and seasonal cycles. Tales of the Shire will be released later this year for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
