-

The Organizing Committee of the XXII Pilgrimage on Horseback issued an official statement deeply regretting the incident that occurred during the event.

The accident resulted in the death of one of the participants and left another with minor injuries, generating consternation among those present and in the local community.

The organization states in the same statement that: “It is with great sadness that we received the news of this tragic event during our pilgrimage”, continuing “we express our most sincere condolences to the bereaved family at this difficult time.

Furthermore, we wish a speedy recovery to the participant who was injured in the incident.” The event, which brings together hundreds of pilgrims annually, is traditional in the region and is usually marked by moments of faith, devotion and camaraderie among participants.

However, this year, joy was replaced by sadness due to the loss of one of its members. Local authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident to determine the causes and take necessary measures to ensure the safety of participants in future events.

Meanwhile, the organizers of the pilgrimage appeal to all participants to take extra care and respect safety standards during the rest of the route, ensuring that the journey continues with as little risk as possible.
