Reddit is one of the most popular social platforms in the world, with several communities made up of people interested in the most varied subjects. This Thursday (25), network users were prevented from accessing the service via the web in several regions of the world. As reported, the website would not load and displayed error messages.
When trying to log into Reddit, community members noticed that the news and discussion pages were not being displayed. In their place, a message stated that “something went wrong” and advised the user to try to access the site again later.
Data Downdetector pointed out that the problems started around 1:30 pm this Thursday (25), rising to a peak of 1,268 complaints. The instability appears not to have been limited to a specific region, as the fault map provided by Ookla suggests that complaints were made by users in several regions of Brazil.
Reddit acknowledged, on its status page, that a problem had occurred in its internal processes, affecting several of its users. All versions of the platform were affected — including native applications for cell phones and tablets and the web version on PC.

In a matter of minutes, the Reddit identified the cause of the failure and implemented the appropriate fixes for the problem. TudoCelular checked, and the service is working normally at the time of publishing this article. “The incident has been resolved,” confirmed the system status page at 2:45 pm (Brasília time).
Reddit is often treated as “the internet forum”, bringing together people who are interested in different subject categories and acting as a bridge between developers and users. Ironically, the platform is also often the scene of complaints about problems users face with other digital services.
